I imagine Ian has run into contractual difficulties as when this or any of these concerts were scheduled, the likelihood but no longer certain musician on guitar was Martin, and for the majority by far of future dates will be Martin, it being 2007 no longer can we expect this to be the case. Martin has certainly earned his holiday and it is as Ian has said within the last yr, Jethro Tull is whoever picks up the phone when its time to play, which is often, near as I know and as i predicted, Jonathon Noyce was offered a spot on the upcoming US tour, but not being quite the hack alot of Tull fans have made him out to be, his services have been employed elsewhere and he won’t be available. I will bet you will see Andy Giddings again too, and, if Ian has made a signigant personnel mistake through the yrs, surely the most signifigant was the removal of John Evan in 80, he too was offered the post again around the time Maart joined, turned it down, had literally ceased playing piano. A truly unreplacable Tullie although in some part they all are, particularly, Glenn, Clive, Jeffrey and Dave. Maybe Ian canright a song with that title. They’re good boys!
Just saw them in Wallingford, Connecticut. They were great, as always. Kudos to the sound guys . . . maybe the best I’ve ever heard. Martin was back and on fire. String quartet was a great fit . . . it’s been fabulous the last few tours with the guest performers. Enjoyed Songs From the Wood and Heavy Horses from them . . . it’s been a long time. New arrangement of Aqualung was great. Who but Ian would take what is arguably his greatest hit and change it! Well, didn’t intend to write a review . . . just wanted to say Martin was there . . . so I’ll cut it here.
Is this the new face of Tull? Where is Martin? This can’t be Tull without Martin!!!!!
